Office Policies and Procedures for Patients:

Appointments and Contact

  • Office hours are 8:30a.m. to 5:00p.m., Monday through Friday; Wednesdays 9:00a.m. to 12:00p.m.
  • Scheduling is as follows: Same day sick or ill appointments will be available at the beginning of each day, these are from 11am to 11:45 a.m. and 3:15 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays. On Wednesdays, sick appointments are available from 12:40 to 1:15 p.m. On Fridays, sick appointments are available in the mornings.
  • There is an office limit of 3 physicals per day.
  • Dr. Jerrells will typically see spa patients on Wednesday mornings and Friday afternoons.
  • Dr. Jerrells reviews messages once in the morning and once in the afternoon. Any calls received before 3p.m. will be answered that day. Otherwise you will receive a return phone call the next business day. Please DO NOT make multiple calls about the same concern. We WILL call you back – you may find this a refreshing change!

Insurance and Payment

  • Most major insurances are accepted. However, you are expected to to know your coverage for services.
  • You may be asked to remit payment for your appointment prior to your visit.
  • If your account is in collections, you will not be seen until the bill is paid in full.

Office Etiquette and other Common Questions

  • If you make an appointment for a sick visit, other issues will not be addressed at that visit. For example, if you have a sore throat you will be treated for that ailment. If counseling or medications refills are required, you will be expected to make another appointment. This ensures that all appointments can be handled in a timely manner minimizing wait times and ensuring each client received the attention and time that he or she deserves.
  • If you are not on time for your appointment, you will be asked to reschedule. There are no exceptions.
  • The only labs you need to fast for are a lipid profile and a basic metabolic profile which contains a blood glucose level. Otherwise, you do not need to fast unless directed to do so.
